Darren Britz, BA, LLB is an admitted attorney and the head of the Remuneration Consultant’s legal team. He regularly consults with employers on their employee’s tax matters, including tax on retrenchment packages and obligations of an employer in terms of the Fourth Schedule to the Income Tax Act. He has represented employers on numerous SARS payroll tax audits and objection processes. He further advises directors, financial managers and other senior employees regarding risk and defence of personal liability for corporate taxes. He leads Remuneration Consultant’s Special Voluntary Disclosure Team, and regularly assists employers with their applications for disclosure of payroll tax non-compliance.
